Description

The purpose of this module is to introduce you to the importance of empathy and compassion and how they play a key role in providing care for patients. This course will walk you through how to show empathy and how its positive impacts can lead to better patient outcomes. To help develop strong empathic healthcare professionals, strategies and tips for managing compassion fatigue/burnout and how to properly set professional boundaries will also be covered.

At the completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Define and understand the positive effects and impacts of empathy and compassion.
  • Explain the language of empathy and ways to show it.

  • Manage compassion fatigue/burnout and set professional boundaries.
