Some of the biggest decisions we make involve housing. Everyone needs shelter, so finding the right house to rent or buy is important to your overall well-being. We will explore the many factors that go into making a housing decision, including location and what's affordable for you. This course will also provide best practices for applying to rent or purchase a home. 

At the completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Determine what factors are important to you when looking for a home to buy or rent.   
• Use the steps provided to rent a home. 
• Purchase renter's insurance, if needed.  
• Discuss the benefits of purchasing a home or renting a home and when either decision makes sense.  
• Differentiate between types of home loans and financing. 

This is course #2115 for Career Pathways and CalGrows and is part of the Adult Education Pathway, which is a general pathway. It is eligible for the Career Builder Incentive for CalGrows.
