Description
This simulation course will help you simulate a gastrostomy tube (G-tube) feeding using the bolus method by stepping into Lin's shoes as she cares for her mother, who has a G-tube. The simulation scenario includes three fictional characters, Lin, her mother, Mrs. Wong, and a nurse guide providing feedback throughout.
In the simulation, you will review types of tube feedings, the differences between intermittent and bolus tube feedings, and practice how to do bolus feeding. This simulation is not a substitute for training and direction from a licensed healthcare professional (LHCP). Under California's paramedical regulations, it's required to receive proper instruction from an LHCP. This simulation is intended to supplement that training and improve your skills in a safe and controlled environment.
