Description
In this simulation course, you can make decisions similar to those you would face in real life caring for a loved one -- specifically stepping into Paula's shoes and assisting her mother with a nebulizer treatment for her cough-variant asthma. This scenario includes three fictional characters: Paula, her mother, Mrs. Zakaryan, who has cough-variant asthma, and a nurse guide providing feedback on your decisions.
It allows you to practice selecting and setting up equipment for the nebulizer, administering medication, and cleaning up afterward. Remember that this simulation is intended to be a learning experience and does not replace the training and direction of a licensed healthcare professional under California paramedical regulations. It is designed to supplement that training and improve your skills in a safe and controlled environment.
This course is self-paced and expected to take roughly 30 minutes to complete. If you need to pause for any reason, you can save progress and come back to resume it when ready. Courses should be completed within 30 days of starting them.
