This instructor-led course will introduce basic information about kidney disease and the dialysis treatments that your consumer may require to manage it.
Description
At some point you may be required to provide care for someone with kidney disease and/or someone who requires dialysis because their kidneys do not function properly. This course will provide basic information about kidney disease and dialysis, and strategies for supporting consumers with these conditions.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe at least two risk factors for kidney disease
- Describe at least two treatments for kidney disease
- Understand how the provider can support consumers living with kidney disease and/or requiring dialysis
- Understand person-centered approaches to supporting consumers living with kidney disease and/or requiring dialysis
- Understand what to observe, record, and report related to kidney disease and dialysis in partnership with the consumer and their family
