This class will help you understand the basics of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and memory disorders, ataxia, Huntington's disease, and Parkinson's disease.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe what a neurodegenerative disease is
  • Name at least two examples of neurodegenerative diseases
  • Describe symptoms and treatments of neurodegenerative diseases
  • Understand how the provider can support their consumer who is living with a neurodegenerative disease
  • Understand person-centered approaches to supporting consumers who are living with a neurodegenerative disease
  • Understand what to observe, record, and report related to neurodegenerative diseases in partnership with the consumer and their family
