This is course #2034 in IHSS Career Pathways. It is part of the General Health & Safety Pathway, which is a general pathway. 

This class will help you understand how to maintain the dignity and safety of consumers while safely supporting them with bathing, dressing and skin care.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Name types of durable medical equipment to use to support consumers while bathing, dressing, and taking care of their skin
  • Describe how these durable medical devices may be used to care for their consumer
  • Understand that different consumers have different preferences when it comes to personal care
  • Describe how to apply person-centered care when supporting consumers with activities of daily living
