Description
This is course # 2004 in IHSS Career Pathways and CalGrows. It is part of the Cognitive Impairments and Behavioral Health Pathway, which is a specialized pathway.
This class will help you learn to recognize and describe the key characteristics of depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. We will discuss signs, symptoms, and treatment options for each so that you are better able to serve consumers with these diagnoses.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the biological and psychological effects of severe depression
- Describe the sings and symptoms of bipolar disorder and other mood disorders
- List treatment options available for these disorders
- Apply newly learned strategies to real-life scenarios
