This is course # 2008 in IHSS Career Pathways and CalGrows. It is part of the Cognitive Impairments and Behavioral Health Pathway, which is a specialized pathway. 

This class will help you learn to recognize and describe the key characteristics of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. You will learn about signs, symptoms, and treatment options while developing a better understanding of what consumers with this disorder are experiencing and how to work with them more effectively.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the signs and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Discuss strategies for supporting someone with PTSD and interacting with them safely and effectively
  • Apply newly learned strategies to real-life scenarios
